Mini Sudoku difficulty guide
6×6 grid — difficulty scales with how many numbers stay on the board.
Each Mini Sudoku has 36 cells. We set difficulty by how many givens (starting clues) remain after generation. More givens → easier scanning; fewer → deeper candidate work. Every puzzle keeps one solution.
Easy (about 20–24 givens)
Best for new players and kids. Expect naked singles, obvious eliminations, and quick wins. Start here to learn the 2×3 block rhythm.
Medium (about 16–19 givens)
Balanced daily practice. Hidden singles and tidy notes matter. Good bridge before harder minis.
Hard (about 13–15 givens)
Fewer freebies — pairs, line-box logic, and patient scanning. Notes are essential.
Expert (about 10–12 givens)
Tightest Mini Sudoku we generate here. Still logic-only, but demand for structure and verification is high.
How to progress
- Solve several puzzles at one level before moving up.
- Review mistakes: usually stale notes or skipped block checks.
- Use techniques for pattern names when you stall.
