Mini Sudoku glossary

Terms for 6×6 Sudoku with 2×3 blocks on ProPuz.

6×6 grid: Thirty-six cells arranged in six rows and six columns; digits used are 1–6 only.

2×3 block (box): A rectangular region, two rows by three columns, outlined with bold borders. Each block must contain 1–6 once.

Row / column: A full line of six cells; each must contain 1–6 once.

Given: A clue printed at the start; you cannot change it.

Candidate: A small “pencil” note marking a possible digit for an empty cell.

House / unit: Any row, column, or block — a set where digits cannot repeat.

Single (naked single): A cell with only one possible digit left after elimination.

Hidden single: In one house, a digit can appear in only one cell (even if that cell has other candidates on your notes).

Pair / triple: Two or three cells in one house sharing the same subset of candidates; eliminates those digits elsewhere in the house.

Unique solution: Exactly one complete grid satisfies all clues — all ProPuz Mini Sudoku puzzles are built that way.

Difficulty: Controlled by how many givens remain; see the difficulty guide.
